About Red Ribbon Club
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a voluntary on-campus program in educational institutions, initiated by the Government of India, aimed at creating awareness about HIV/AIDS, promoting safe lifestyles, and encouraging voluntary blood donation among youth.
RRC acts as a platform for peer education to reduce HIV stigma, educate on reproductive health, and build leadership skills among students.
Key Objectives & Activities
- HIV/AIDS Education: Educating youth to reduce new infections through awareness on sex, sexuality, and HIV/AIDS.
- Blood Donation: Promoting regular, voluntary blood donation and creating a cadre of safe donors.
- Health Promotion: Focusing on healthy lifestyles, mental health, stress management, drug abuse prevention, and nutrition.
- Peer Education: Training student volunteers as peer educators to lead awareness initiatives.
- Stigma Reduction: Combating stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA).
