Overview

Computer Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, development, and maintenance of Software and Hardware systems. It is a foundational discipline for the modern digital era, distinguishing itself from traditional engineering by focusing on computational theory and its practical applications.

Scope: Computer engineering takes place across all sectors, from municipal and national government infrastructure to individual tech startups and international corporations.

Computer Laboratory

The laboratories are equipped with modern computers and updated software, allowing students to gain hands-on experience and develop essential technical skills. High-speed internet is available campus-wide, ensuring easy access to global resources and online platforms. The college provides 50 computers, advanced systems, and peripherals like printers and scanners, all connected through a secure network to support student learning and professional growth.

Naan Mudhalvan Program

Our students actively participated in the "Naan Mudhalvan" program held at Muthayammal College, which focused on the emerging and impactful topic of Generative AI. The session was graced by Mr.K. Karthikeyan, Business Development Executive, who served as the chief guest and shared valuable insights on the applications and future scope of generative technologies.

As part of the program, an examination was conducted to assess the students understanding and skills in the subject. Industrial Visit
Visit to Mettur Thermal Power Station

Our department organized a one-day industrial visit to the "Mettur Thermal Power Station" to gain practical exposure to power generation. The students observed key sections like boilers, turbines, and generators, and received explanations from engineers on thermal power plant operations, safety measures, and control systems. The visit bridged the gap between theory and practice, enhancing technical knowledge and awareness of industrial practices.
