Industrial Visits
A one-day industrial visit was organized to "Salem District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd. (Aavin Milk)". The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and enhance their understanding of real-time applications. During the visit, students observed the complete process of milk handling, including collection, processing, pasteurization, quality testing, packaging, and distribution. The importance of hygiene, safety standards, and strict quality control followed by Aavin was clearly demonstrated.

During the visit, students observed various stages such as raw material handling, rolling, finishing, and quality control, along with the importance of maintaining safety standards and precision in production. The visit also provided insights into plant layout, efficient material flow, waste management, and the use of modern technology in industrial operations.

Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company (KDHP) is a major Indian tea plantation company based in Munnar, Idukki district, Kerala. Formed in 2005 after Tata Tea transferred its holdings to employee-owned participatory management, it operates across seven estates covering about 24,000 hectares and produces over 22-23 million kg of tea annually.

During the visit, students observed various stages such as raw material handling, rolling, finishing, and quality control, along with the importance of maintaining safety standards and precision in production.

A one-day industrial visit was organized to Thermal Power Plant, Mettur with the objective of providing practical exposure a facility that generates electricity by converting heat energy, usually from burning coal into electrical energy. These plants work by boiling water to create high-pressure steam, which turns a turbine connected to an electrical generator.

A one-day industrial visit was organized to Kanan Devan Hills Plantations Company (KDHP) is a major Indian tea plantation company based in Munnar, Idukki district, Kerala. KDHP runs 16 fully functional tea factories, including notable ones like Mattupetty Tea Factory and automated facilities at Chundavurrai and Madupatty.

A one-day industrial visit was organized to TRACO Cable Company Limited with the objective of manufacturing and exporting high-quality electrical cables and conductors, including Aluminum Conductors, XLPE Cables, and House Wiring Cables, with three manufacturing units.

Our Department organized a one-day industrial visit for third-year students to "Sri Ranga Tech" in Salem, with the aim of providing practical exposure to panel manufacturing and starter operations. During the visit, the students observed the manufacturing process of panel boards, laser cutting, and starter functioning, which helped them understand real-time industrial processes.
Our Department organized a two-day industrial visit for 3rd year students to the "KERALA ELECTRICAL AND ALLIED ENGINEERING CO.LTD, Mamala, Kochi and TARCO CABELS CO.LTD, Irimpanam, Kochi, with the aim of gaining practical exposure to industrial operations. During this visit the students observed the function of transformer making, testing, production of UG cables and HT cables.
Our Department organized a one-day industrial visit to PRASANTH TECHNOLOGIES to enhance our practical knowledge in biomedical and diagnostic technologies.
