AAVIN Cooperative Milk Producers

A one-day industrial visit was organized to "Salem District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd. (Aavin Milk)". The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to industrial operations and enhance their understanding of real-time applications. During the visit, students observed the complete process of milk handling, including collection, processing, pasteurization, quality testing, packaging, and distribution. The importance of hygiene, safety standards, and strict quality control followed by Aavin was clearly demonstrated.

Formed in 2005 after Tata Tea transferred its holdings to employee-owned participatory management, it operates across seven estates covering about 24,000 hectares and produces over 22-23 million kg of tea annually.
